Riverwalk Coordination & Cleanup

Overview
Together, the Miami Riverwalk and Baywalk act as the connected spine and front door to our community and are home to many diverse businesses. As an economic development agency, the Miami DDA firmly believes in an attractive, safe, and welcoming Downtown core to serve both residents and our business community, as well as attract tourists. To that end, the Miami DDA contributes on an annual basis to the Miami Riverwalk Cleanup fund that is overseen by the Managing Director of the Miami River Commission, Brett Bibeau. Mr. Bibeau oversees the management of all weekly cleanups that include the removal of trash, litter, leaves, graffiti, needles, feces, homeless encampments, etc., and are almost exclusively done on public sites.

1-Year Outlook: In partnership with the Miami River Commission, the Miami Downtown Development Authority is coordinating a walkthrough of the north shore of the Downtown Riverwalk with various stakeholders and property owners to discuss maintenance, operations, and communications, so that we can all work together to ensure that our public spaces look clean and feel safe.
