Baywalk & Riverwalk Lighting Initiative

Overview
Numerous waterfront sites do not feel welcoming or safe, particularly at night, due to a lack of lighting. There is little consistency in the utilization of furnishings or materials, nor unifying elements that connect and create a Baywalk/Riverwalk identity. The first element of the Waterfront Walkway Design Standards that addresses both these issues are custom-designed lights. The image to the left is the Louis Poulson Baywalk light with a curved LED light strip in the pole. The image to the right is the Louis Poulson Riverwalk light based off of the masthead of a ship with an LED beacon. The lights are fully programmable via a Bluetooth app and can change colors for any occasion.
