The Miami Downtown Development Authority is fueling Downtown Miami’s economic boom by offering grants to businesses relocating or expanding within its vibrant districts. Grants are available for ground-floor retail and mid-sized businesses.

START-UP Grant: $25K

START-UP Grant: $25K

Overview:

  1. Add to growing ecosystem
  2. Pathway/pipeline builder
  3. Support tech, co-working, VC investment in Miami
  4. Yearly pitch competition in April

Qualifications:

  1. Companies selected through a pitch competition
  2. Focus on innovative and high-growth potential start-ups
  3. Must lease co-working space in Miami DDA District  
  4. Must have a recommendation letter from one of our start-up partners
  5. Cannot be a crypto business or platform
  6. Must participate in 2 Miami DDA events

 

RETAIL Grant: $50K

RETAIL Grant: $50K

Overview:

  1. In demand retail
  2. Fashion based retail
  3. Food & beverage concepts
  4. Entertainment and arts & culture companies 
  5. One-Stop-Shop Downtown 
  6. Available for up to 10 businesses
  7. One year program

Qualifications:

  1. Strategic target area focus
  2. Must be ground floor
  3. Annual revenue must not exceed $3 million 
  4. Business in operation for at least 1 year
  5. Must lease space in Miami DDA District
  6. Compliance with all local zoning & permitting regulations
  7. No businesses in regulated industries
  8. Must participate in 2 Miami DDA events

 

MID-SIZE BUSINESS Grant: Up to $50K

MID-SIZE BUSINESS Grant: Up to $50K

Overview:

  1. Focus on target industries 
  2. Finance / Tech
  3. Healthcare
  4. (HQ) national or regional
  5. Professional Services
  6. Entertainment and arts & culture companies 
  7. Available for up to 10 businesses
  8. One year program

Qualifications:

  1. Companies with 50 employees or less
  2. Must be in business for at least 2 years previously  and or have expertise in the business
  3. Must lease space in Miami DDA District (3 years)
  4. Must participate in 2 Miami DDA events
  5. Wage requirements apply
  6. Preference for 10 or more employees
