Downtown Miami: Celebrate the Victories, Embrace the Challenges
By Christina Crespi, CEO and Executive Director of the Miami Downtown Development Authority

Today should be considered an incredible achievement in the trajectory of Downtown Miami and a marker that we have truly become a world-class city, hosting multiple premier events that showcase us as a must-visit destination. Instead, in this article, the focus is on making people not want to go out and experience what’s happening right in their backyard.

Yes, addressing mobility challenges must remain a priority, but there are more transportation options available than what were listed in the article, including the Brightline for those coming from up north and the recently launched Freebee downtown circulator. It stops at four Metromover stations, Brightline MiamiCentral, the Kaseya Center and more, eliminating the need for a car on especially busy nights like tonight. And if you live downtown, you can easily walk to your destination.

This is all in addition to the free public transit options available to help get you in and out of Downtown Miami, including the Metromover which will be extending its hours of operation until 1 a.m. tonight.

Will there be traffic tonight in downtown? Yes. Will there also be events you don’t want to miss? Also, yes. The choice is yours, but you’ll find me downtown.
