Celebrating its 22nd birthday, the AmericanAirlines Arena (pictured here) first opened on Dec. 31, 1999 in the heart of #DowntownMiami overlooking breathtaking #BiscayneBay. Putting any other virtual background to shame, Arena staff often find themselves ditching their indoor offices for a spot on the Plaza where they can work while enjoying the salty sea air. The multipurpose arena has 2,105 club seats, 80 luxury suites, and 76 private boxes and houses Florida’s largest theater known as The Waterfront Theater that can seat between 3,000 and 5,800. Designed with an emphasis on the unique opportunity of utilizing the tropical outdoor atmosphere, arena and NBA executives often find themselves not wanting to go home.
