Policy and Program Development
On the policy front Miami DDA plays the important role of advocate for Downtown's interests. Federal, state, county and municipal governments all impact the quality of life and the infrastructure of Downtown. The Miami DDA serves as the eyes and ears of the street to identify problems and report concerns to the agency that has jurisdiction. It is this level of constant communication with government and community agencies that led to the successful passage of the Anti - Panhandling Ordinance. Being in front of community leaders with the right message at the right time has also led to the commitment of millions of dollars from state and local government dedicated to beautification projects and roadway improvements throughout the district.
Looking forward, we are expanding the role of the Miami DDA webpage. For example, you will be able to find information on Miami DDA expenditures. The Miami DDA Board and staff are dedicated to quality public management. We are not done yet. Providing solid stewardship of tax payers dollars is an on-going process.
